The water clarity of Silver Lake is a major concern. Below is historical data, courtesy of Dorothy. Note the improvement through 1990, and the marked deterioration since.

Below is an image of the convergence of the Mississippi and the Minnesota Rivers. One can clearly see the sediment from the Minnesota meeting the clearer waters of the Mississippi.
