Stormwater
A 2016 report commissioned by the watershed district discusses the consequences of stormwater runoff.
Dorothy's comments: "See page 133, Figure 5.8; it also has the amount of Total Phosphorus load flowing into the lake from two of those areas on the same map. This report is not yet updated on our shallow lake status, but does include more info on the TP load on pages 99–105. There is some work on what is causing our issues in the lake, and what can be done about it, so definitely worth reading, with the newest scientific info available."
There is concern about about the stormwater discharge at the:
- Sweetwater Curve sewer location;
- and the Old Market Road/Covington sewer location.
Also runoff:
- From the hill below Powers Blvd;
- From the hill below Ridge Rd.
Brock and Dorothy met with Paul Horsnby, the Shorewood City Engineer, to discuss Shorewood stormwater sewers. Dorothy discussed the matter with Claire Bleser, at the watershed district. Rich suggested that we should talk to the city of Chanhassen as well, given the runoff from Powers Blvd.
